Best Places to Visit in Arlington

Arlington is a larger-than-life example of Texas. Sports franchises are big in Arlington, and theme parks are wild and have loud music. If you’re looking for a quaint getaway, Arlington isn’t the place to be, but if you’re looking for a city with a Texan feel, Arlington rivals Dallas and Fort Worth.

Have a look at our list of the Best Places to Visit in Arlington and make your trip enjoyable.

10 Best Places to Visit in Arlington

Let’s explore the top 10 Most Beautiful and Best Places to Visit in Arlington:

1. Six Flags Great Texas

This huge amusement park draws visitors from all over the country during their stay in Arlington and surrounding Texas. Thrilling rides, including two Batman-themed rides and a Superman water ride, are guaranteed to immerse you. There are also plenty of rides to satisfy the less adventurous park visitor. As with all Six Flags parks, there are many dining options along with live entertainment and shopping throughout the park.

2. Dallas Cowboys

Whether you like American football or not and support the Dallas Cowboys, you should check out AT&T Stadium while you’re in Arlington. The stadium is an incredible architectural achievement. It is the largest dome structure in the world, housing over 100,000 fans. The stadium hosts the most popular artists from around the world throughout the year (at the time of this writing, Beyonce is about to perform live here). Tours available include exploring the various artworks lining the stadium walls and VIP guided tours.

3. Universal Life Park

While not an architectural masterpiece like AT&T Stadium, Universal Living Park is more iconic. The stadium is home to the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball franchise and was the site of the 1995 All-Star Game as well as two World Series championships. The stadium tour includes access to backstage areas such as the batting cage and press box and takes place daily during the off-season.

4. Bowling Museum

The Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame were moved from Missouri to Arlington in 2008. For those of us who don’t like bowling, this might not sound like a charm, but you might be surprised at what’s on offer here. First, the museum explores 5,000 years of history, and you may be surprised to learn that the first evidence of the sport dates back 5,000 years. Among other things, the museum explores the founders of sport and the impact that sport can have in the years to come.

5. Arlington Park

Arlington Park opened in 1988 and is located in South Arlington. The mall was renovated in 1996 and now looks like part of the 21st century. There are many stores in the mall, some of which are boutiques and some are large chains. In addition, there are many eating and drinking places in the shopping mall. Hours of operation vary by store, but the mall itself is open from 10am to 9pm.

6. Arlington Theater

Opened in 1973, the Arlington Theater was the city’s first professional theater. The theater hosts a variety of acting classes for both novice and seasoned veterans, along with well-known and little-known performances. Performances this season include Calender Girls and My Way: A Tribute to Frank Sinatra. There are also various youth productions throughout the season.

7. Dave and Busters

Dave and Busters is the place to have fun. This bar has a huge collection of Midway games for all ages, totaling over $1,000,000. With a collection of over 200 games on offer, you don’t have to worry about coins or cash as Dave and Busters use the Power Card. The card allows you to accumulate bonus points that can be redeemed for money-saving offers as you play.

8. Hurricane Harbor

If you didn’t get wet enough on the Superman water ride at Six Flags Main Park, why not visit Six Flags Hurricane Harbor? The park offers a wide variety of water rides and pools to keep people of all ages entertained, including the unusual Banzai Boggan that lets riders slide like pebbles through the water. It’s also a great way to stay cool on a hot Texas day. As you’d expect, food and drinks are available at the park so you don’t go hungry.

9. Arlington Lake

Arlington Lake is a fisherman’s paradise. The lake is very popular with fishermen due to its large perch population. It hosts regular competitions throughout the year. A lake is also a great place for kayaking or canoeing, and canoes can be rented. There is also a paddling trail on the lake, a first in Texas and a unique opportunity to get your feet wet as you walk.

10. UTA

The Gallery at UTA on the University of Texas Arlington campus is a must for art lovers. The gallery is smaller than 5,000 square feet, and in addition to the variety of artworks on display, the gallery hosts lectures, seminars, and screenings to introduce visitors to all aspects of modern art. The gallery is free to the public. The Master’s Exhibition in May is well worth a visit due to the high standard of work.
